MSc MSST Sports Therapist

Joseph Young

Your Therapist

I hold a MSc in Advanced Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Science and a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports Therapy, both from Teesside University. My professional journey has given me valuable experience working within multi-disciplinary teams, providing physical therapy for people with learning disabilities and those recovering from brain injuries.

Throughout my studies, I also worked with a range of sports teams, including football, rugby, and basketball; where I developed hands-on expertise in injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. I offer private and mobile Sports Physical Therapy across Newcastle and Durham, supporting people of all backgrounds and activity levels.

I enjoy working to help people be free from pain and achieve a better quality of life. I believe in a holistic multi-faceted approach, combining targeted physical rehabilitation with a focus on the psychological and social aspects of recovery. To ensure the highest standards of care, I continually update my skills through new qualifications and ongoing professional development.

Beyond my clinical work, I regularly volunteer my services at major sporting events such as the Great North Run, Great North Bike Ride, and other landmark races, providing post-event massage and recovery treatments to athletes at all levels.

Outside of work, I enjoy family time, outdoors, cycling, hiking and an occasional dip in the North East Sea.
